The best beaches page compares places: a closer coast, Catalina Island, Saona Island. This page compares how a beach-day excursion is built. Same word, different job. They stay separate so a beach directory does not swallow the planning question, and a planning question does not pretend to rank sands.

A closer water outing

The structure is simple: leave the terminal, spend time at water that does not require an island crossing, and come back with margin. The destination may be ordinary. The point is the shape — short on transit, light on boats, easy to abandon if the ship’s window shrinks. It is not a promise of a particular beach, and it is not access to a resort shoreline.

A boat-to-island outing

The structure is a transfer to a boat, time on the water, time ashore or in the water, and a return that has to be finished before all-aboard. Saona is the usual beach-day version of this shape. Catalina is the version whose point is the reef as much as the sand. The beaches page tells you which island. This page only says: once you choose an island, the outing is a boat day, and the boat day is the commitment.

A swim-first outing

Some people want the water itself more than a place name. That is closer to the snorkelling page than to a beach list. A catamaran-style boat, described on the catamaran page, is only a hull. It does not tell you whether the day is a swim, a beach stay, or a scenic ride. Ask that question before you treat “beach excursion” and “boat excursion” as the same product. This site still does not sell either.
